She now has regular periods of quiet alertness throughout the day. Right after her meals, she wants to study faces, and will spend 15-20 minutes smiling and flirting with us. Her huge crooked smiles are absolutely delightful. We are totally smitten.
Right before getting sleepy again, she likes to watch toys, and has been studying the fishies on her Aquarium swing, the ducks on her duckie swing, and smiling and cooing every morning at the red dog on her bathroom swing. He has a smile painted on and she seems to know it. She also did a few successful minutes in the butterfly gym yesterday, smiling and staring at Mrs. Sun ( a Jake favorite).
Here are some recent pix:

The duckies twirl in a circle and are really fascinating.

Here she is sitting up. She's also spending a lot of time leaning forward so she can practice keeping her head up. She loves looking at things from her new position, and sometimes bends all the way over forwards to study her feet.

Unfortunately, not every experiment in new movement is successful.

Still, her favorite place to nap is on me...

Yay, alert little Abby!
