Maymont Animal Farm

We went for a picnic lunch and to feed the animals at Maymont in Richmond today. It was our first really glorious fall day, sunny and warm but with a coolness to the air that was very refreshing.



I don't think Jake could have enjoyed himself any more than he did. He loved getting his hand tickled by the goats' tongues!

He liked the flower gardens too. First to contemplate...

And then to run around in!




It was also the first day in a long time that we planned without an afternoon nap. Jake did very well at Maymont, lasted through shopping at Short Pump, and then fell fast asleep for about 30 minutes on the way home. As did I!
